1. What is Mobile Device Management (MDM)?

Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a technology that organisations use to manage, secure, and control mobile device such as smartphones.

2. What product would be eligible for MDM?

All iPhones are eligible for MDM.

3. What access does the MDM have control to?

Mobile Device Management (MDM) will only have access to lock the device if the users are suspended or terminated.

4. What are the functions that MDM can do?

The MDM functions are as follows:

  1. Enable Lost Mode
  2. Disable Lost Mode
  3. Ring the device
  4. Locate the device
  5. Remove the device from MDM

5. What happened if the users are suspended or terminated?

Lost Mode is enabled for users who are suspended or terminated based on their records. During Lost Mode, a message notification can be sent to the device using MDM. A ring tone will also be turned on and the device can be located when it is in a Lost Mode.

Once the users cleared their bills and the status has been changed to active, Lost Mode can be disabled and the users can utilise their devices as usual.

6. What happened if the user reformat the device within contract period?

The devices which are within the contract period will still be managed by the MDM even though it has been reformatted. Once the device is connected to internet or Wi-Fi, the MDM profile will be auto-installed.

7. Can the user remove themselves from MDM?

Only authorised personnel from the organisation can remove the device from MDM.

8. Do the users need to back up their device before removing it from MDM?

Users are advised to back up their device before exiting remote management, as the device will undergo formatting upon removal from MDM. Therefore, none of the data within will be preserved.
